Annabelle the haunted doll

In 1970, a mother bought the doll as a birthday present for her daughter Donna. Donna was currently a student in college, preparing to graduate with her nursing degree. Donna lived in a tiny apartment with her room mate Angie, who was a nurse as well. Donna placed the doll on her bed and didn’t gave it a second thought until a few days later. They both noticed a few strange and creepy things about the doll. It apparently moved its arms and legs from being straightened to crossed. As time passed, its movements would be more noticeable. Donna and Angie would come home to find the doll sitting in a complete different room from which they had left it in. Then, the doll would be found sitting cross legged on the couch, it’s arms being folded, other times it was found, standing on its feet and leaning against a chair in the dinning room. Several times, Donna placed the doll on the couch in the living room, but when she came home from work, the doll would be lying on her bed with the door closed.

Apparently the doll could write, too. About a month later, Donna and Angie would find messages on parchment, such as ‘Help us’ or ‘Help me’. The handwriting looked like it belonged to a small child. At the time, Donna had never kept parchment paper in their apartment.

They thought the doll was haunted by a human being so they started treating it like one, too. A few days later, their friend came over to visit them. He wouldn’t believe the doll was haunted, which was a huge mistake. He fell asleep on the couch and had a horrible nightmare about the doll scratching and trying to kill him. As he woke up, soaking in sweat, the doll would be sitting in front of him in a chair. He removed his shirt to see real scratches on his chest.

At the time, they decided to get rid of the doll and called Ed and Lorraine Warren, founders of the Warren’s Occult Museum. They had some alarming news. They believe, that the spirit lurking in the doll, isn’t a dead girl, but a demon. The Warren’s took the doll with them, which is still kept in their Occult Museum in Monroe - Connecticut. It is said, that Annabelle cursed a visitor and caused his death. Do not challenge the demonic, choose your words carefully in the presence of Annabelle, the doll.
